Attachment-Focused Therapy and Parenting

• If child is neglected or abused, experiences traumatic losses, or unrelieved pain during the first three years of life, both brain structure and function are affected.

• If treatment is to be successful, it must also change both structure and function of the brain.

• Since damage was done in a dyadic relationship, it must be healed in a dyadic relationship.
