ORGANIZATION:
|
The Kansas Association for Infant and Early Childhood
Mental Health, an affiliate of the World Association for Infant Mental
Health, is an association of professionals in Kansas who are concerned with the
emotional development of infants and young children. KAIMH has three main
goals:
- To encourage the
realization that infancy and early childhood are critical periods in the
psychosocial/emotional development of individuals,
- To disseminate
knowledge to its members as well as to combat the sense of isolation of
those disciplines working in the infancy field,
- To provide information
to the general public, which will enhance awareness and bring to public
attention the psychosocial/emotional needs of children in the first
years of life.

OVERVIEW AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
Leadership
·
Serves as spokesperson for the organization
and articulates and promotes KAIMH’s vision and mission.
·
Provides strong and innovative leadership with
hands-on experience in running an organization, and developing and
implementing programs.
·
Leads the long-range and strategic planning
process of the Board of Directors, ensuring that benchmarks are established
for measuring success.
·
Works effectively with state policy makers and
legislature to advance ECMH
Management/Program
- A proven decision maker with the
ability to set priorities, manage, and implement policies and procedures.
- Develops, establishes and maintains
strong relationships with Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH)
Community.
- Develops strategic partnerships with
appropriate organizations/people to advance ECMH.
- Creates and encourages a collegial
and participatory work environment where trust, integrity and open
communication are valued.
Community and Board Development
- Provide avenues for full and open
communication and collaboration with the community at large and promote
an awareness of ECMH.
- Initiates and encourages
collaboration and cooperation among other organizations and leaders.
- Develops Board meeting agendas, in
collaboration with the Board President, and regularly provides
information to the Board.
- Provides
information and recommendations to the Board for setting or revising
goals and objectives, operating policies, strategic planning and grant
making priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
|
- Senior
management experience, including fiscal, grant writing & development
- Open
and inclusive management style, comfortable working & resolving
issues.
- A
broad knowledge base and a passion for Early Childhood Mental
Health/Social Emotional Development.
- A
highly regarded professional stature and credibility, coupled with
strong leadership skills.
- Effective
at leading and managing highly independent and self-motivated employees
and volunteers.
- The
ability to prioritize and tackle multiple tasks and see the "big
picture" are key. Maturity and sound judgment are essential.
- Experience
in setting strategic direction and driving it.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or
the equivalent in experience is required. Master’s degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:
|
A base salary
commensurate with experience.
