Building Our Reflective Practice Through A Racialized Lens
Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) is a research-informed model and communication framework developed by the Erikson Institute. It is designed to strengthen relationships by helping professionals tune into the emotions, needs, and readiness of others through active listening and presence.
The FAN approach emphasizes five key components: mindful self-regulation, empathetic inquiry, collaborative exploration, capacity building, and integration. By focusing on attunement and reflective practice, FAN equips professionals to respond more effectively in moments of stress, uncertainty, or growth.
This model is widely used across disciplines to promote emotional connection, build trust, and support long-term positive outcomes in both individuals and systems.
This training provides early childhood professionals with the knowledge, support and evidence-based strategies they can use in everyday moments to support healthy brain development and build the connections babies need for success now and later in life.
